Simple wooden chest of drawers

The simple oak chest of drawers is made of solid oak wood. We created the furniture with attention to every detail. The oak is preserved with a colourless varnish, which creates a matt neutral coating. This allowed us to achieve the effect of natural raw wood. The designers of the chest of drawers decided to finish the fronts with a fluting technique, giving the concept dynamism and making it visually appealing. The design is inspired by Nordic style, but the furniture will also correspond very well with modern, retro, boho and Japanese styles. It will also work well in eclectic arrangements.

The original finish of the fronts

The chest of drawers is one of the elements of the BÓN multifunctional furniture collection, which was awarded the esteemed "Good Design 2021" award by the Institute of Industrial Design. We finished the fronts of the drawers and doors using fluting technology. Regular grooves were milled vertically into the solid oak wood. The fluting gives the fronts a three-dimensional spatial form. The carefully crafted grooves invite the user to move his or her hand over them and affect the sense of sight and touch. This form of finishing combines modernity with classicism and makes the wooden chest of drawers fit in well with surroundings in various climates and styles.

Convenient storage

The elegant fluted door conceals two convenient wooden shelves that can store various items, such as clothes or documents. At the bottom are two drawers. Like the back of the furniture, their bottoms are made of high-quality hardwood plywood. The solid joints of all elements make the furniture stable. The designers dispensed with handles that could disturb the furniture's simple form and compete visually with the fluted surface. Doors and drawers are opened using a convenient push-to-open system that is activated by a light press of the hand.

With respect for nature

Throughout the entire process of creating a piece of furniture - from the design to the finish - we strive to act with respect for nature. Design, sourcing of raw materials, production and sales take place in Poland. By minimising unnecessary transport, we reduce our carbon footprint. We purchase wood from the State Forests. We only use oak from FSC-certified plantations, which certifies sustainable forest management. In addition, our furniture is environmentally friendly due to its high durability and strength. We can assure you without hesitation that they will last for many years and will not need to be replaced after a few seasons of use.
